I just bought a Nook and discovered that I cannot read textbooks on it (only on my PC). That was my main reason for wanting to purchase an e-reader. Are you able to read textbooks on a Kindle? Thanks for your response.

I recently bought a Kindle Fire and because of the good benefits of having a prime account with it, I bought the Amazon Student Prime membership for $39. But for some reason my Kindle does not recognize my prime membership, every time I try to get a book that is free to rent, it just informs me about the Prime benefits and asking me to sign up for one. Same thing goes for video streaming, it won’t let me watch any for free. I don’t understand why, I already signed up & paid for a Prime account. I was able to buy some case for my Kindle on my computer and use the free 2-day shipping, so that proves that my prime is working, but I still can’t get books or movies. How long does it take to recognize that I have a prime account?!?!
