Do I need voltage transformer to charge Kindle in Italy?

Group, I am very low-tech, so please bear with me.I bought a Kindle last year and brought it with me to Italy. I brought the heavy little box (transformer) and 2 round-prong adaptor to plug it in that trip. I read on a previous post (James’) that perhaps I just bring the little outlet 2 prong plug in. I hope I understand correctly. Are you saying that I do NOT need to bring the transformer this time? Is there some little voltage switch that I must engage before plugging into the wall in Italy rather than using the voltage transformer? I don’t want to burn up my Kindle by just plugging it into the wall with the little outlet round prong plug (adapter) w/o transformer.(I’m not interested in buying books while traveling or connecting to computer, which I’m clueless about anyway), just reading books bought it US ahead of time and need charged Kindle.)Thanks so much.

Loading Company Proprietary Documents on Kindle

Is it possible to load documents onto the Kindle without Amazon getting access to it, such as it is on the possible Que by plastic logics? I have a lot of buisnes documents but cannot read the PDF’s if its going beyond my own property.Thanks

Newbie Kindle owner here (and I love it already). I have some word doc’s on my laptop. Can they be transferred somehow so they can be read on the kindle? Also, can adobe acrobat files (e books) be sent to the kindle?Thank you!

I own a kindle DX international, I travel a lot and have extended stay in Locations where the wireless link does not exist. I purchase books on Amazon Account but do not known how to send same to my kindle DX through my PC which fortunatly has the kindle reader software installed.I bougt several books recently and managed to move one into my kindle successfully without knowing how. However a dozen others could not open on kindle which advised I delete and get them downloaded through wireless which does not exist where Iam at the moment. I have had to send the kindle with a friend travelling to a place with coverage. This I found incovenient hence my posting for a solution.Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation)

Hello! Just wanted to let anyone who happens to be traveling to Japan, the Kindle works great here! Even if you happen to be coming to a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere (like where I live) you will be able to download new books onto the Kindle just fine.

Kindle DX international version in Asia

I have been sitting on the sidelines lusting after the DX but waiting for the international version to come out. Guess what – it was announced at CES on Monday and I ordered mine immediately!! Amazon says they will begin shipping on Jan 19 on a first come/first served basis. I just checked and mine arrives on the 20th which is good because I am outbound for Shanghai on the 24th. I cover all of the Asia Pacific area so I think I am going to be a great guinea pig for how it works in lots of countriesKindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7" Display, U.S. Wireless).
