http://goodereader.com/blog/electronic-readers/amazon-concedes-to-apple-to-make-kindle-app-for-ipad/A terrible article. Don’t you agree? Here’s my review; This is quite possibly the most ridiculous article I’ve ever read.Amazon isn’t allowing Apple to step into a dominant role by making an app for the Ipad- they’re trying to (sell books!) get their book catalogue available to as many users as possible.1) Proprietary hardware. Well the hardware WOULD be proprietary, now wouldn’t it?2) Medieval design- you do remember it’s a supposed to function as a book, right? Not a web-surfing swiss army knife. A BOOK!3) Slow refresh rates. Define slow? My Kindle turns pages in less than a second, same as turning the pages of a real book. And that’s all it’s supposed do, turn pages, because it’s only purpose is to display books! BOOKS!4) Yes, the web browser isn’t iphone quality, but then again, it’s not supposed to be. What it is, though, is free, and perfectly adequate at accessing the internet for quick google searches, images or Wikipedia lookup.Kindle also has text to speech, and for people who actually want to read books without eye-strain, with the ability to change font sizes, choose books from a vast catalogue of books with many cheap and free copies available, people who want to carry as many books around with them to read in a slim, lightweight device that they can read in sunlight, the Kindle has a LOT to offer.
