There’s been quite a bit of discussion recently on authors posting about their own books in this forum. Some of it is just going to be the feeling of the group, in my opinion. I also wanted to get an answer from Amazon.I sent these questions as part of an e-mail:====================* Is it appropriate for an author to post about a book of his or her own in the Kindle store? * Would it be okay to start a discussion for that purpose?* Would it be okay to post to an already created thread for that purpose?* Would it be okay to link to the book if it was not a referrer link?* Would it be okay to mention it more than once? If so, what would be a guideline on when it is appropriate to refer to it again?=====================I received in part this response:=====================In particular, authors cannot use the Discussion Boards as a place of advertisement for their work. However, there are threads customers have begun and ask for authors to give a synopsis about their work. This is a legitimate place for authors to respond and promote. Outside of these threads, the Amazon.com website overall Participation Guidelines would guide what can and cannot be posted.==================I was also directed to the Guidelines.
