eReader Zone

I just purchased my first kindle product, The DX, my 13 yr. old daughter and I are fighting for control of it almost hourly. One thing I have not been clear on is audio books, I am not so fond of the text to speech robotic voice, but understand and am fine with that feature in a pinch. Back to audio, first, if you get a audio download is it in the narrator of the books voice or the robotic one? Secondly, does any one know the smartest and most cost effective way to have a good library of audio books started and the easiest way to do it for my kindle dx. Might audible.com be a good starting place? Thanks a bunch!
