The Kindle store itself has thousands of free books. You can use Jungle-Search.com, set the price range from zero to zero. You can also tell it to exclude (or keep) books in the public domain. If a book is in the public domain, that means it is not under copyright protection. Typically these will be older books, commonly first published in the US before 1923. Amazon also has a special page for Big Deals on the Kindle:http://www.amazon.com/Great-Deals-Kindle/b/ref=amb_link_84182011_11ie=UTF8&node=1268197011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=browse&pf_rd_r=1ZP7GW380T9N2D6GCNT3&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=479347471&pf_rd_i=1286228011(Amazon page relevant to the discussion)That will not include the public domain titles. You can also get free books you can read on your Kindle from many other sources, including FeedBooks.com, ManyBooks.net, and Gutenberg.org. If a Kindle version isn’t shown, choose an unprotected. mobi file, or a .txt file (which won’t have much formatting). This thread will give you more information:http://www.amazon.com/Million-Kindle-books-availablenow/forum/FxBVKST06PWP9B/Tx15UAKRX5252A/1_encoding=UTF8&asin=B000FI73MA(Amazon thread relevant to the discussion)================For more Frequently Asked Kindle Questions, see:http://www.amazon.com/tag/kindle/forum/ref=cm_cd_ef_tft_tp?%5Fencoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdThread=Tx2ELH7RBF7D78R(Amazon thread relevant to the discussion)
