I Didn’t Read Enough before My Kindle, but Now I Read Too Much

I’m not being facetious or joking here. I’ve noticed that now that I have a selection of books on an e-book reader, and I can get more so easily, I have gone from not reading as much as I thought I should to being a bit addicted and reading when I should be working. It’s sort of like when you start to read too many RSS feeds and you finally have to delete them to get your job done. Or in the old days, Usenet. Or if you have one of those Twitter or E-mail announcement things on your PC.Somehow the Kindle has been the tipping point of ease of use/ease of access that has pushed me perhaps into a slightly unhealthy proportion of my time spent reading. It’s a life balance thing, and I think I’ve lost the balance.[Of course I realize this post will produce a blizzard of jokes and tongue-in-cheek responses.]
