Interesting – "Twilight" ebook out for iPhone

I post this just under "curious."I was on the iphone app store during lunch on my iphone and a "new" app was listed on the main page. It was an official ebook app for the iphone and it was "Twilight" – the very popular book for about $10.99. There have been freebie ebooks out for the iphone since day 1 but I think this is the first major commercial release of an ebook for the iphone. So now the iphone officially enters the market of ebooks. My first thought was "huh, weird." Part of me is glad to see more ebook devices but at the same time, I really want the Kindle to succeed.Pros of using the iphone as an ebook device:You always have it with you, its your phone. Pretty nice to have a single device that’s your phone, music library, video player, camera, text / instant messenger, mobile web surfer, gaming device and NOW an ebook reader.Instant delivery of ebooks via the app store network. Apple allows re-downloading of apps you have bought so you can download it again if you want to read it again (I guess.) And guess what, it works all over the world already. 100+ countries I think. The reader its using (iceberg reader?) is actually quite good and lets you scan / flip thru the pages of the book much better than the Kindle. The kindle could take some UI lessons from this app.Backlit screen (could be a pro or a con depending on your pov).Cons:Screen is really tiny compare to the kindle or sony. Your eyes would get pretty tired, pretty fast.I am sure the battery will drain amazingly fast, even with the screen turned down.Terribly limited selection I am sure for a long time to come unless bigger guns get involved.
