iPhone Kindle App – is TOO good!
I usually don’t bring my K2 with me to work, too easy to get distracted with it. But this morning I was getting coffee and listening to NPR, they interviewed an author about a new book – sounded very interesting. I used my iphone to surf the amazon site (they really need a kindle store app interface) and sent a sample of the book to my iphone. Took about a minute. Then, over coffee I read the sample (its not bad for 30-45 min reading stints) and when i got to the end of the sample I found out you can buy the entire book on the iphone, from the sample! Very neat. So in seconds I had bought the full book and was reading it there on my iphone.I had music in the background and you know, flipping pages with the iphone is much easier than clicking the buttons on the K2 – very effortless with the touch screen. Plus the iphone weighs less and is very comfortable to use one handed. Coffee in the other.I tell ya, if I had not already bought my K2 before this app came out, I would have stayed with the K1 and used the iphone app – its THAT good. Amazon needs to update their store iphone app to add the Kindle store to it, I assume thats in the works as a no brainer. And tonight, when I get home my K2 will sync forward to where I left off on my iphone. Impressive stuff for a first gen app.BN better get very busy, considering their purchase of fictionwise & ereader.
