Kindle DX-Sleep Mode

I understand that the new Kindle DX goes into sleep mode in 10 minutes after no activity. I plan to use it an aviation application for reading pilot charts in a aircraft. Reading the manual it appears there is no way to turn the sleep mode off. Is this correct?
