Just got my Kindle yesterday – trying to set it up and put it through its paces. I bought some books, and read them, then turned on the reading program – it works great. One thing is that I was looking for some O’Reily technical books about the Perl programming language, but most of them, and most of the other books I wanted to buy are not available for Kindle.Since I own the Perl Bookshelf – a large package of O’Reily technical books that come with the books in digital form on CD in HTML format, I used Adobe Acrobat to grab the HTML files and then saved them in PDF format.Problem is these create large PDF documents (73MB) that I wanted to convert to be able to install them on my Kindle to be able to have my technical documentation with me on my Kindle 2.I tried emailing to the free.kindle.com email address but since the files are whole books with illustrations, they are so large that the Amazon server will not accept them, and most likely my server would not accept the return processed files either. So …1) What I want to know is if anyone knows a solution to this problem?2) Can Amazon develop a web interface or a downloadable document conversion program that we Kindle owners can use on our own computers to convert our documents so that our Kindles can read them?3) Alternatively, is there a firmware upgrade available to allow the Kindle 2 to be able to read the .pdf format natively like the Kindle DX can?4) Finally, if there is no solution to this, is it possible for me to trade up my Kindle 2 to a Kindle DX in the first 30 days, under the assumption that the Kindle DX will be able to read and understand my large .PDF files created by converting large HTML files to PDF files?5) Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on the size of a .PDF file that the Kindle DX can read? Thanks for having he patience to read all of this!

I’ve been looking for an answer to this problem too! Anyone knows how the DX handles big pdf files? Anyone please?
