My library has paid to have access to a database for e-books. Through that I can download them to my computer and they expire just as like paper books. If someone else has that book, I’m on a waiting list, so the book only goes out to one patron at a time. Why can’t I have it on my Kindle? I know some libraries actually loan out Kindles with books purchased directly for them. The ebooks have already been purchased by the library or the database they joined. A lot more people would buy Kindles if they could get library books.
