Reading technical (programming) books on Kindle. Recommended? 2 or DX?

I am interested in buying a Kindle for technical books. I am a programmer (.NET), always have a book or two that I am currently reading, and have more than I want to keep for reference. My main issue is carrying those between office and home, which the Kindle would solve nicely. I am concerned, however, about the experience of reading (which require lots of back and forth, searching, direct page access, etc.) on the Kindle vs. paper. Also of concern is the page size. How much would you recommend a Kindle for this type of usage, and which type (DX or 2) would be best? Thanks!
