Sorting by Author AND Publication Date?
I enjoy reading series and when I find a new author, I tend to dowload multiple books in the series at once. Is there a way to have my 1st Gen Kindle sort the books by author and then by publication date, so that the books are listed in the order in which they should be read? Also, how do I get the Kindle to differentiate between books that have been read and ones that have NOT been read, yet? When they are first downloaded, they have a "New" designator next to them but if I link back up to the Kindle Storefront before reading the new books, the "new" designator goes away. And if I open an older book to check something out and then close it again, it moves to the top of the reading list, even though it wasn’t recently downloaded. Am I missing something in terms of book list managment functions or is it really this limiting?I have to say that while I like the ability to download books wirelessly and immediately, I miss the easier functionality of my Sony eReader. The sorting, views and general ease of use (ie reading in bed and not having the pages turn if I rest the thing on the mattress while reading on my side) are considerably less user-friendly than the eReader. For the high price tag, I expected more flexibility in its functions, which is why I’m hoping this is a case of user error/ignorance, as opposed to design flaws. Thanks!
