There are some people in this discussion group who refuse to treat discussions about the Kindle with a proper level of gravitas. Reading – and especially reading ebooks – is a very serious affair and should not be treated lightly. As such, humor and light-hearted conversations have no place in this forum. This space should be treated as a controlled environment where serious minded individuals may have discussions on a higher plane. This is not a location for stream of consciousness twaddle put forth by inferior minds. While reading is a form of entertainment, it should be treated as a night at the Metropolitan Opera not an evening with Kathy Griffin or Dame Edna.There are also those who share unapproved opinions on topics that only have one possible interpretation. They are guilty of rampant free thought and as such do not deserve a place in our enlightened sphere.It is therefore necessary to form a corp of Discussion Police to point out errors to the members wishing to participate in our enlightened discussions. THe initial guidelines for the police are as follows:1) Going off topic is not permitted. All off topic comments will be pointed out by the Discussion Police as a learning aid to the offender.2) Unapproved opinions will be responded to with contempt and sarcasm. Continued use of unapproved opinions may result in the use of disparaging adjectives against the perpetrator.3) Humor does not advance discussions nor can it make a point that cannot be made in a serious manner. All humor will be responded to with distain.As needed, further guidelines will be introduced to better manage this discussion group. Remember, compliance is compulsory.
