There is tremendous satisfaction in reviewing an Indie (self-published) author when I can give them a good review. Not only do I get to read some VERY good books, but knowing that author may be the next James Patterson or Stephen King is exhilerating. Also, regardless of the review ‘stars’, I have received some very nice feedback from some of these authors. For some, a one to two star review has been a help to them when I have given details to show the problems and they have e-mailed me accordingly.Another upside is getting to have a hand in raising someone’s book sales. There are books being self-published that deserve to be on the NY Best Sellers list. It’s nice that I can help some of them get on the Kindle Top Sellers where they deserve to be. I have also made some new e-mail friends from some of these authors who, IMHO, are some of the nicest people around. Whenever I have an author get bent out of shape over a review, I think of these other authors striving to be professionals and wanting to publish great books. It’s terrific to hear from an author directly. I do get a little awed by getting to talk to a real author directly (even though self-published, they are still ‘real authors’ to me). It’s totally cool. I could post reviews on King or Koontz or Patterson all day every day and would never hear from one of them. LOLSo, just wanted to say "thanks" to all of you authors for putting your stuff out there for us to read before you get famous! And, most of you have such great prices, too!
