All the drama over the Orwell books actually points out why authors should have DRM protection. Too many people are more than willing to rip off authors and artists for profit or because they want something for free at the author’s expense. Look at people who have posted on this forum. They bought a bootleg book and they aren’t satisfied that Amazon gave them a refund – some of them think they should get a free legal copy from Amazon!!!!! The fact is that we live in a society where too many people want something for nothing. I personally think the record companies made a mistake in getting rid of DRM. People who create things that other people buy should get paid (and protected) for their efforts. Don’t complain about paying for what you want to enjoy. Enough of being victims – if you don’t want to pay to read or listen to something, then don’t buy it.
