Troubling Shipping Problems
Slightly off topic, but it does involve a Kindle being shipped! On 25 May I ordered a book to be delivered via 2 day shipping on 28 May. So far the status has never changed from "Shipment has left Shipper’s facility." Apparently the product never entered Fedex’s system. I kept getting reassurances from Customer support that it was normal for shipments to not get tracked (not normal in my experience!) It still hasn’t arrived. Now, my Kindle is supposed to arrive on 2 June via two day shipping with UPS. It was "shipped" on 29 May. But the status has never changed from the "Shipment has left the shipper’s facility". Usually the tracking is quite good. So I’m wondering if this one is going to disappear as well.Customer Service’s reassurance that they "are responsible for the shipment until it arrives" is no reassurance. I used two day shipping for a reason!(And, in the case of my book, they no longer have it in stock so they can’t send a new one. Although they kindly referred me to the 3rd party scalpers selling the $20 book for $75 with another $5 standard shipping!)Usually my experiences with Amazon shipping have been quite good–I hope this isn’t the start of a disappointing trend! I’ve grown to rely on Amazon, but…You’d think they’d want to keep customer’s happy in this economy!Well, that’s my rant. I guess I’ll be glad to have books delivered wirelessly!
