Updated shipping on Kindle DX

I just noticed that the shipping delays on the DX are down to 1-2 weeks from the 3-5 weeks when I ordered on July 11th. Mine still hasn’t shipped and the site is still saying that it won’t ship until at least August 7th. Does anyone know what the policy is regarding shipping delays?
