If you take a peek at Amazon’s Kindle page , you’ll see that the Kindle will only ship in about 13 weeks! The device simply can’t be that popular and I suspect that orders are simply put on hold until Kindle 2.0 comes out. It also states that the Kindle is "sold out" so there you go.

A few days ago, the waiting time was about 2 weeks and it suddently jumped to almost 4 months!

So what I suspect is that people who are waiting right now will get the version 2.0 as soon as it will be released. If I were you, I’d order one right away just to be among the first one to get it! In fact, I’m seriously considering another one for my wife.

So a word of advise: don’t go nuts and buy a used one from Amazon. Some sell theirs for $1500 (see here !). If you want a decent price, hit eBay (here is a list of Kindles on eBay ) but hurry up before it’s too late!
